Anyway, on route to the Sunshine Coast - Noosa - we needed to go back to Sea World where Calum was booked in to go snorkelling in one of the fish tanks. Now this is an activity for 12 children and adults over the age of 10 years. The only criteria being the need to be a confident swimmer. When we arrived we booked Calum in and he had a plastic/paper bracelet put on his left wrist. We were told to be near the shark tank at 12.05pm for the activity at 12.15pm. All we knew was others were booked in to do it with Calum.
At the entrance lake which is currently closed for refurbishment they were rehearsing a Jetski show for the summer season:
They even did full loop the loops:
We went over to the Polar Bear area where yesterday the only polar bear out was fast asleep. Not today, he put on a real show for us:
12.05pm and we went to the meeting point. No one in sight! Were we in the right place? Check the map - yes it's the right place. 12.13pm and a young girl came over in Sea World uniform. "Hi, who are you?" she asked "I'm Calum" "Okay Calum, we've only two others booked on so we'll just hang on for them" she said full of enthusiasm. Everyone seems to love there job here. 12.20pm and still no one present. "Okay Calum, we'll take you through to get kitted up and if anyone turns up they can join you". Off Calum went and returned 10 minutes later with the diver who briefed him:
It was obvious that no one was joining Calum so the after the briefing, diver said those immortal words "Okay Calum, the tank is all yours enjoy!". Boy did he enjoy it:
Diving with the sharks:
Mixing it up with the rays:
Or just hanging with the other fish:
After his swim, a quick go on the roller coasters and the water flume:
Then off on the three hour drive to Noosa on the Sunshine Coast. We love Gold Coast so much we would have been happy to stay longer.
