OMG

We had bit of a disaster yesterday. After getting back from the waterpark, we went to the local shops to buy some bits and pieces for supper. When we returned to the car some 'idiot' had drawn a penis on the passenger door of the White hire car with black permanent marker pen. They also wrote the word 'Dick' next to it. We quickly realised it would not just rub off. The excess on our insurance is $1500 or about £1000 whether your fault or not so we were not happy!

I telephoned AVIS who advised I take the car to them ASAP to get it looked at. The nearest AVIS to us is the one at Surfers Paradise so we decide to head there first thing.

We got to Surfers Paradise at about 8.30 am and went straight to AVIS. The guy behind the counter did not sound confident when we told him it was permanent marker but he told us to wait by the car where someone would meet us. Along came this Aussie guy with his tin of 'Aerosal' anti-mosquito spray. One spray onto a tissue and a wipe the graffiti was all gone. Huge relief all around! Does make you wonder what it does to your skin when you use it as an anti-mosquito spray!

Now we are at Surfers Paradise, the sun is out 26 degrees plus and we're on the beach:

What a place this is, OMG moments everywhere, the beach, the promenade, the shops are all fantastic as are the views and the waves etc:

It does make you wonder how hot it can be in their summer?

After a wander along the prom, we headed back to our hotel so Calum could have a swim in the pool. Later we are off to explore and hopefully find somewhere to eat:
