The new room is on the ground floor. Same as the third floor room but with a bed settee. Very nice with complementary dressing gowns to wear (they can also be bought for $69.00, we quickly decided we don't want to buy one!). there are films ro rent including some fairly new ones. Calum quickly makes himself at home, a Jacuzzi bath, slip into something more comfortable and call room service!
WiFi in Burleigh Heads was rubbish so the plan was to send the blogs from here. Here it's worse, no WiFi at all! We'll try and find some in the town.
After a quiet evening in, it's up early and off to Australia Zoo down the Steve Irwin Highway. We arrive at about 11.20am having gone wrong once and after paying to get in we realised the main show in the 'Crocoseum' started at 11.00am. Les was gutted in particular. All very disappointed but Les had set his heart on this as the main thing he wanted to do in Australia. Still, lots more to see and a Crocodile demo is due with one of the big salt water crocs at 2.00pm.
The zoo is amazing
Lots to see including a number of wild animals that roam between the exhibits:
Calum does his best Steve Irwin impression with a roaming iguana:
Lots of opportunity to fuss over the Kangaroos, here Calum and Jen fuss over a very laid back friendly grey kangaroo:
2.00pm and we get so see 'Casper' the saltwater croc being fed with a display of his hunting and stalking ability as well as a show of his awesome power. We may have missed the main show but as the trainer states, this is a more intimate show than the main one and everyone gets to be a lot closer:
We get to see a tail stand, where the croc uses the power in his tail to push himself out of the water:
We get to see lots bore animals and get very close to lots of them, loads of photo's taken. It's a very full day and emphasises how much we love it here. Jen even decided what she wants to do for a living:
Calum is not quite so sure if it's the job for him:
After a great day out at the zoo it was back to Noosa. Calm went for a quick swim in the pool whilst Jen and Les went to search out the beach. Wow, what a beach. It's like a picture postcard of a beach and we can see why it's world famous. Photo's to follow tomorrow as the plan is to spend the day on the beach.
